Princess Eugenie's wedding ceremony will be taking place in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married in May 2018. But Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding reception will take place at a venue very different from 2018's other royal wedding.

It's been revealed by Vanity Fair that Princess Eugenie's wedding reception will be held at Royal Lodge in Windsor. As the Yorks' family home, Royal Lodge will provide an intimate and familiar setting for the wedding reception, and as a source tells People, "Eugenie is local to the area and spent a lot of her life in Windsor."

Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice's parents got divorced in 1996. While Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, currently resides at Royal Lodge, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, apparently still stays in the property when she is in the country.

According toVanity Fair, Princess Eugenie's parents are also helping to plan their daughter's reception. A source revealed to the publication that, "Sarah and Andrew are helping to organize the evening party. The plan is for a marquee to be set up in the grounds and dancing late into the night. Eugenie and Jack are planning the whole thing but Sarah and Andrew are very involved. Sarah is bringing a very eclectic and exciting guest list to Windsor."

The unusual property has a long history within the royal family. According to the Express, Royal Lodge was originally build in 1662, but "was mostly demolished and then rebuilt in the 1830s." Prior to the Yorks taking up residence in Windsor, the Queen Mother lived at Royal Lodge until her death in 2002. The Yorks moved in in 2004, and have since refurbished the property extensively.

The Express also reports that the building's decor is particularly striking, even featuring a "gothic saloon, which was designed in the 1820s by architect John Nash. The room has a stunning nature inspired design, with green painted walls and a lighter green ceiling."
