Princess Diana's former butler says 'The Crown' is "accurate"
After a long wait, season four of The Crown is finally here, with much of the series focusing on Princess Diana, including her wedding to Prince Charles, her relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles, and also her battle with bulimia. And, while some people close to the royals have reportedly been unhappy with the new season, including some of Prince Charles' friends, Princess Diana's former butler has come out to say that the show is "accurate".
Paul Burrell was a servant of the Royal Household, working at Buckingham Palace before going on to work for Charles and Diana at Highgrove House from 1987. He then served as Princess Diana's butler until her death in 1997, and he often speaks about her life in the media.
Now, he's spoken out about the new series of The Crown, calling it "the best yet" and saying that the portrayal of Princess Diana is an "accurate dramatisation" of the real-life events.

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine, Burrell revealed: "I've watched already the first three episodes of The Crown, and I think it's the best series yet."
He continued: "It's a peek behind the doors of Buckingham Palace, that perhaps the palace don’t want you to see because this is the truth in many ways. It's a fair and accurate dramatisation of what happened."
"It is spectacular, with stellar performances from Emma as the young Diana and Josh as young Charles," he said, adding, "but of course it's stolen by Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher."
Burrell went on to comment on actress Emma Corrin's portrayal of Diana, saying: "It's her... and her mannerisms and the way she talks, and I'm feeling it again, her personality being dismantled behind the scenes by these people who don't really care."
He also added that he doesn't think Prince William and Prince Harry, or any members of the royal family, will watch The Crown because "it reminds them of too much negativity from the past".
