Princess Charlotte's reaction to being asked her age is hilarious

Princess Charlotte has always been the sassiest of Prince William and Kate Middleton's children. From nailing her royal wave at the age of one to telling telling paparazzi, "you're not coming" to younger brother Prince Louis's christening party, she's a feisty character. And it seems at the age of six (Princess Charlotte's sixth birthday was last weekend), the young royal already believes she's ahead of her years.

During an official engagement in the West Midlands earlier this week, Prince William reportedly spoke about his young daughter. "She’s 6, yeah," he said, continuing: "If you ask her, she says she’s 16."

Love. It.

Having been born on 2 May, 2015, Princess Charlotte is very much six, and not a teenager just yet, but the dad-of-three went on to reveal that his daughter is really revelling in her growing age. "Charlotte says, 'I’m 6 now, I’ll do what I want.' It’s like, they grow up really fast," added William.

Just imagine the scenes when Charlotte discovered she's a real life Princess and could tell her mates she lives in an actual palace. I bet she's very popular in school.

While Princess Charlotte is clearly very outgoing and confident, and younger brother Prince Louis appears to be the same (if the faces he pulled at his first Trooping The Colour in 2019 were anything to go by, anyway), the eldest Cambridge child Prince George is thought to be slightly more reserved.

During a conversation at a royal event in 2018, the Queen Elizabeth gave insight into her great-grandchildren, saying that Princess Charlotte keeps an eye out for George, despite him being older. When the Queen met a little girl named Emily and her younger sister, Hadleigh, the monarch asked Emily if she "looked after" her little sister. The children's mother, Ellen, replied, "It’s the other way around," and Queen Elizabeth responded: "It’s like that with Charlotte and George."

Luckily for Princess Charlotte, she was able to have a small celebration for her sixth (not her sixteenth😅) birthday over the weekend. At the same West Midlands event, the Duke of Cambridge was asked about Charlotte's birthday, and said:"She had a lovely day, thank you! Last year it was her birthday in lockdown but this year we were able to have one other family over."

Only 10 years to go before Charlotte becomes an actual 16-year-old, and things get a whole lot more complicated for William and Kate...
