After the royal family broke the joyful news yesterday that Princess Beatrice is pregnant, her husband, Edo Mapelli Mozzi, has now shared his thoughts on it publicly. In a comment on Princess Eugenie's Instagram post congratulating the pair on their impending parenthood, the 37-year-old shared that he's "thrilled" his royal wife is expecting.

Eugenie wrote in her caption, "Beabea and Edo huge congratulations on your news - can't wait to meet the little one," along with two party emojis. In response, Edo posted: "Thank you. So thrilled our little family is growing ❤️ "

The comment is in reference to the fact that Edo already has a son - a little boy named Christopher (nicknamed 'Wolfie') born in 2016, who he shares with his ex-partner Dara Huang. It's reported that Princess Beatrice loves being a stepmother to Wolfie, who served as best man at the couple's wedding in July last year.

Beatrice and Edo got married in a micro-wedding last summer after getting engaged in September 2019. They were originally supposed to marry in London at the end of May 2020, but had their plans changed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The intimate wedding took place at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor, with a "small private ceremony with their parents and siblings," according to the Royal family's official Instagram account.

Now, nine months later, the newlyweds have announced the expansion to their family. Their new arrival will be born in autumn this year, and will be a cousin for Princess Eugenie's baby son August, who was born in February.

The news of the newest royal pregnancy was announced via the official Royal Family social media channels yesterday. In full, the statement read: "👶 Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year. The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."

It accompanied an image of the couple pictured on their wedding day in July 2020.

Beatrice and Edo's little one is due to become the Queen's twelfth great-grandchild (with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's baby girl, who is due this summer, set to be the eleventh).

Congratulations to Beatrice, Edo and little Wolfie, who we bet can't wait to have a baby brother or sister.
