Prince Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in secret at Windsor today, 17 July. The couple were due to tie the knot at the Chapel Royal of St James’s Palace at the end of May, but cancelled the ceremony in March due to the pandemic.

The intimate wedding took place at the All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park with strict social-distancing measures in place and just 20 guests present, including the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh who were seen driving into the estate earlier today. It's believed that the princess' parents, the Duke and Duchess of York, were also in attendance, as well as her sister, Princess Eugenie.

Weddings with up to 30 people are allowed to take place under current government guidelines.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the news via a statement, which read:

The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11am on Friday 17th July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor. The small ceremony was attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and close family. The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant Government Guidelines.

It's believed that the couple will be releasing an official wedding portrait tomorrow, as they didn't want to overshadow the investiture of Captain Tom Moore, which also took place today.

The Queen was later seen awarding Moore with a knighthood at Windsor Castle, and told him and his family: "My granddaughter got married this morning and both Philip and I managed to get there - very nice".

The couple's engagement was announced in September 2019. "We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement," said the pair in a joint statement.

"We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can't wait to be actually married. We share so many similar interests and values and we know that this will stand us in great stead for years ahead, full of love and happiness."
