The newest addition to the royal family is almost here, as Princess Beatrice prepares to give birth to her first child.

After Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (also known as Edo) joyfully announced that she was expecting back in May, all eyes have been on Bea and her blossoming baby bump.

In a statement from Buckingham Palace, it was announced: 'Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year. The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.'

While the statement revealed that baby Mapelli-Mozzi would be due in the autumn (it's common for royals to give a vague seasonal due date, to hold off public speculation), Bea is now dropping major hints about her due date, and it's sooner than we think!

In an interview with Hello! about raising children with Dyslexia, Beatrice appears to confirm that she is in fact due in a couple of months, which would be around October. 'My husband's also dyslexic so we'll see whether we're having this conversation in a couple of months' time with a new baby in the house, but I really see it as a gift,' she said.

The 32-year-old also opened up about homeschooling her step-son Christopher (nicknamed 'Wolfie') born in 2016, who Edo shares with his ex-partner Dara Huang. 'I've felt very lucky to have had the chance to work with my bonus son (Wolfie) over the course of the school closures. It was a huge learning curve for all of us.'

It's clear that the whole family are excited for the royal parents-to-be, with Beatrice's sister Princess Eugenie sharing a sweet video clip of throwback pics on Instagram to celebrate Bea's birthday.

But, perhaps the sweetest part of the tribute was Eugenie's caption, referencing how she's about to become a mum and bring a new cousin for Eugenie's four-month-old son August Brooksbank into the world.

We for one can't wait to meet the new addition, who will become the Queen's twelfth great-grandchild, with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's baby girl, Lilibet, being the eleventh.

But before they become parents, the couple, who recently celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary, are thought to be enjoying the last of summer in Scotland, holidaying with Eugenie, Fergie, Prince Andrew and the Queen at Balmoral estate.

With less than two months to go until their little one's arrival, we're sure that Bea's baby shower is right around the corner and with Eugenie being an avid fan of social media, here's hoping she'll give a sneak peek inside the royal festivities. In the meantime, we can't wait to see more of Princess Beatrice as her pregnancy progresses.
