Princess Beatrice names her daughter

Update (01/10/2021):

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have revealed the name of their first child, a daughter.

The royal family Twitter account confirmed that the couple has called her Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi.

Beatrice and Mozzi said in a joint statement: "We are delighted to share that we have named our daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi."

"We are all doing well and Wolfie is the best big brother to Sienna."

The account shared an adorable footprint picture of Sienna, along with her full name and the date she was born.

She was born on 18 September and is the Queen's 12th great-grandchild.

Sienna is the first child for Beatrice, however, Mozzi already has a son from a previous relationship called Christopher Woolf (known as "Wolfie").

Original story (20/09/2021):

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have welcomed their first child together, a baby girl.

The baby was born at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London at 23:42 pm on Saturday weighing 6b 2oz, Buckingham Palace confirmed.

The couple were “delighted” to announce the arrival of their daughter.

“The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news,” explained a spokesperson for the new parents. “The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.

"Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf."

While this is the first child for Beatrice, their daughter is the second child for Mozzi, who has son Christopher from a previous relationship with architect Dara Huang.

Princess Beatrice refers to Mozzi's son, known as Wolfie, as her “bonus son” and considers her role as his stepmother as “an honour”.

"I had the great honour to become a stepmother," Beatrice wrote in an essay for the Evening Standard, "and have had the most remarkable time going back over some of my most favourite stories at bedtime."

Beatrice and Edoardo tied the knot secretly last July with a handful of close family at Royal Lodge at Windsor, after their original wedding plans had been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The newborn is the Queen's 12th great-grandchild, and the fourth born this year.
