Queen Elizabeth's family had a banner 2018, and in recent months, all eyes have been on two sets of newlyweds: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

But now, Eugenie's sister Princess Beatrice is planning a royal wedding of her own. On September 16, Prince Andrews daughter announced that she is engaged to her boyfriend, businessman Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Beatrice has been reportedly dating "Edo," as he is known to friends, for roughly a year. Here's everything we know about their relationship so far.

They met years ago.

While British tabloid the Sun claims the pair only met in September of 2018, People reports the couple has known each other for a while now.

Mozzi's step-father Christopher Shale, who passed away suddenly at the Glastonbury music festival in 2011, was close friends with Beatrice's parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. In fact, Beatrice attended Shale's funeral alongside her parents more than seven years ago.

Perhaps Beatrice and Edo were reacquainted last fall. According to the Sun's source, “Beatrice and Edo have the same circle of friends and were introduced through a mutual chum ... They hit it off instantly and have a real laugh together. They’ve been on holiday together and Beatrice introduced him to Fergie and her dad. Things are moving very quickly and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if they got engaged within a short period of time."

They've been photographed in public together several times.

Beatrice and Edo had been dating for months before they started to be photographed in public together. Pictures first surfaced in the Daily Mail of the couple walking on the beach together in Kenya in early January.

In March, the couple stepped out together at the 2019 Portrait Gala, which is held at the National Portrait Gallery. The photo up top is from that event.

Later that month, on St. Patrick's Day, they were spotted holding hands in New York City. In July, photographers captured them walking in to the exclusive Annabel's Member's Club in London. Per Hello, Beatrice was wearing a bracelet with Edo's initial on it. And in late August, the Princess and the businessman were photographed musician Ellie Goulding's wedding alongside Princess Eugenie and Sarah Ferguson.

Things started to get serious over the summer.

In June, Edo accompanied Beatrice at an event at St. James's Palace. Together, they spoke with guests during a Pitch@Palace event, which was hosted by Beatrice's father Prince Andrew.

Earlier in the season, Edo joined Beatrice and her mother, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, at the wedding of Ella Windsor to Thomas Kingston.

Edo proposed to Beatrice during a trip to Italy in September of 2019.

"We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married," the happy couple said in an official announcement. "We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness."

The wedding will take place in 2020.

Per the official announcement, "further details will be announced in due course."
