Congratulations are in order for Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi! The couple are expecting their first baby in the autumn.

Buckingham Palace announced the news and a sweet statement on the official @theroyalfamily Instagram account read: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year.

"The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."

This will be the second grandchild for the Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York. They are already grandparents to Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's son August who was born in February 2021.

It’s been a celebratory year for Princess Beatrice and Edoardo. The couple tied the knot in an intimate Covid-safe ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge Windsor back in July 2020.

Princess Beatrice stunned in an embellished, short-sleeved Norman Hartnell gown on loan from her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

This will be Princess Beatrice’s first child but Edoardo is already a father to his five-year-old son Christopher Woolf, from his previous relationship with American architect Dara Huang.

When the couple’s baby is born, they will be tenth-in-line to the throne, which means that Beatrice's younger sister Princess Eugenie will move out of the top ten for the first time to eleventh.

Eugenie and Jack's son August will then move down in the line of succession to twelfth place.

Huge congratulations to both Princess Beatrice and Edoardo!
