Princes Eugenie's due date has been revealed
Ever since Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank announced they were expecting a baby back in September, almost two years after the pair got married, we've been excited for the little one's arrival.
The announcement, in which Eugenie shared she's set to become a mother in "early 2021," was shared on Instagram alongside a picture of the cutest little fluffy baby booties shaped like teddy bears. The royal mum-to-be described in the post how she and Jack are "so excited" to become parents - and it seems there won't be too long to wait, now.
Up until this week, the only specifics that had been shared publicly about the birth of the new royal baby were that it was expected "early" this year. But new information on the Princess' due date has now been revealed. According to HELLO! the royal baby, which will become Queen Elizabeth's ninth great-grandchild, is due in mid-February. Less than a month to go!
We haven't seen all that much of Princess Eugenie during her pregnancy, in part to do with the fact that she's not a front-line working royal, and also because of the small matter of the pandemic meaning we've all been told to stay at home. We did, however, catch a glimpse of the future mama out and about when it was allowed last year, along with her blooming baby bump.
The 30-year-old granddaughter of the Queen was spotted out walking in Mayfair, London in early October last year, when she was approximately five months pregnant. Eugenie wore a floral dress, a forest green coat and a patterned mask, and although it was a windy day and her dress was blowing around, you could still see the shape of her emerging bump below a belt. By now of course, at eight months pregnant, the bump will have got much more defined - but it's unlikely we'll see the royal in public again before she gives birth.
Recently it was reported that, after having moved in to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage, Eugenie and Jack moved out again after just six weeks. While not confirmed, the reason behind all the to-ing and fro-ing is believed to be so the couple could remain in Royal Lodge with Princess Eugenie's parents over Christmas and during the early days of having a newborn.
And you can see why they might have taken that decision; becoming a parent can feel isolating when there's not a global health crisis going on outside, so embedding themselves in the family home for a few months sounds like a sensible move.
We can't wait for the happy news of baby Brooksbank's birth to be announced - not long now!
