It's not everyday you'd expect to see the likes of Prince William cutting some major shapes on the DF down at your local nightclub, but it seems that scenario might not be too unrealistic after all, as the second-in-line to the throne just admitted that he's a "secret clubber". Who'd have guessed it!?

Taking to Twitter, radio presenter Simon Mayo shared details of a recent interaction he'd had with the Duke of Cambridge. "So this happened. Prince William did the pinning," he wrote, alongside a photo of his recently awarded MBE.

"A class act!" Simon added. "We talked about Radio 1 and how he loved Faithless/Insomnia and Spiller/Groovejet. I suggested that he was clearly a bit of a clubber..."

Simon went on, "He said maybe a secret clubber. I plugged Drivetime on GHR obviously, suggested he was just the right age to be joining us."

And clearly a passion for music runs in the family, as Prince William recently revealed that two of his children – eight-year-old Prince George and seven-year-old Princess Charlotte – follow in his footsteps. In fact, the little royals fight "most mornings" over who gets to choose the music they listen to as they get ready for school.

Speaking on Apple's Time To Walk podcast, the 39-year-old royal said in December last year: "Most mornings there’s a massive fight between Charlotte and George as to what song is played." As for how he gets around the argument, the Duke admitted that he's implemented a musical rota, alternating who gets to choose the music on which day. Genius, if you ask us!

Despite their sibling quarrelling, William revealed there is one song in particular that always gets the Cambridge kids on their feet for a little boogie. "One of the songs that the children are loving at the moment is Shakira's 'Waka Waka'. There’s a lot of hip movements going along with a lot of dressing up," he said. "Charlotte particularly is running around the kitchen, in her dresses and ballet stuff. She goes completely crazy with Louis following her around trying to do the same thing."

On the topic of what music he prefers to listen to in the mornings, the 39-year-old's go-to is a bit of rock music. "There’s nothing better than, on a Monday morning, when you're a bit bleary-eyed after the weekend and trying to get yourself back into the grind of the week, listening to AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck'," he said. "It absolutely wakes you up, puts your week in the best mood possible, and you feel like you can take on anything and anyone."

Fancy putting together a Spotify playlist for us, eh Will?
