Let's talk royal news, gang! Not long after it was reported that the reason Prince William's former Private Secretary, Simon Case, left the Cambridge's inner circle was because Boris Johnson had pinched him, it seems another member of staff is moving on to pastures new. This time it's Case's replacement, Christian Jones.

Jones took on the role of William's Private Secretary last March, but had been a part of Team Cambridge as a communications officer since 2018. His reason for leaving? The Telegraph report that he's taking on a new challenge as partner of a private equity group called Bridgepoint. The corporate affairs company is said to be worth a very cool and casual £18 billion – so Jones will likely still very much be rubbing shoulders with the elite in his new job.

However, it sounds as though he's not completely severing all ties with Prince William and Kate Middleton, as the paper also say he'll remain an advisor to the couple. Makes sense, given that Jones is said to have played a vital part in maintaining a positive public image of the Cambridges throughout the course of the pandemic (and following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's departure from their senior royal roles).

In his early days, Jones also handled PR for Meghan and Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex too.

A royal source is quoted as saying, "Whereas Simon [Case] was credited with making the Duke a statesman, Christian has really helped them to steer them through their public-facing role during the pandemic. He’s helped them to grow in confidence by gently pushing them out of their comfort zone."

Prior to joining the royal staff roster, Jones worked as an economist in the Treasury under George Osborne for four years, before working on *whisper it now* Brexit as part of the Department for Exiting in the European Union in 2016.

So, for anybody keen to go and work for the royals, now's your chance! Whilst Jones's former role hasn't appeared on the 'vacancies' section of their official website as yet, there is an opportunity to apply for a Senior Employee Communications Assistant role... maybe you could work your way up to become Prince Will's future go-to?
