Prince William sends message to favourite football team - 'Can't wait for tonight'
Prince William, a lifelong Aston Villa fan, took to social media to cheer on his favourite football team ahead of their triumphant 3-0 win against Swiss side Young Boys in the European competition. The Duke of Cambridge posted: "The last time @AVFCOfficial won in the top European competition, it was the month before I was born. In addition to celebrating the victory, Prince William also paid tribute to former Villa player Gary Shaw, who sadly passed away at the age of 63. He wrote: "My thoughts this evening are also with Villa legend Gary Shaw's friends and family following his passing yesterday. #UTV W (sic)".
Back in May, after Villa secured qualification for this season's Champions League campaign, the future King praised the efforts of Villa coach Unai Emery and the entire squad. He tweeted: "We are Champions League! A historic season and an amazing achievement. Thanks to Unai, the whole squad and everyone at @AVFCOfficial. Can't wait for next season. #UTV! W (sic)".

Taking to social media, the Royal shared his joy: "What a beauty, Ollie! Congratulations England!" After Watkins' nail-biting finish clinched a 2-1 victory for the Three Lions and booked their spot in the coveted Euro final.
