Prince William on what George and Charlotte fight over 'most mornings'
Any parent will tell you that the morning rush to get the kids ready for school isn't always the easiest. It should come as some consolation then, that even Prince William and Kate Middleton have to deal with their fair share of mid-morning meltdowns when it comes to the Cambridge children – Prince George (8), Princess Charlotte (6) and Prince Louis (3).
According to Prince William, the family start their day with a dance around the kitchen, although, this often results in the eldest two children arguing over what they'll listen to. Speaking on Apple's Time To Walk podcast, the 39-year-old Royal said: "Most mornings there’s a massive fight between Charlotte and George as to what song is played."
As for how he gets around the argument, the Duke of Cambridge admitted he's implemented a musical rota, alternating which of the children gets to choose the music on which day. Clever!
Despite their disagreements, Prince William revealed there is one song in particular that always gets them on their feet. "One of the songs that the children are loving at the moment is Shakira's 'Waka Waka'. There’s a lot of hip movements going along with a lot of dressing up," he said. "Charlotte particularly is running around the kitchen, in her dresses and ballet stuff. She goes completely crazy with Louis following her around trying to do the same thing."
On the topic of what music he prefers in the mornings, the 39-year-old loves listening to a bit of rock music to get the day started. "There’s nothing better than, on a Monday morning, when you're a bit bleary-eyed after the weekend and trying to get yourself back into the grind of the week, listening to AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck'," he said. "It absolutely wakes you up, puts your week in the best mood possible, and you feel like you can take on anything and anyone."
And a love of music clearly runs in the family, with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently revealing what their son Archie's favourite song is. On a recent visit to a US military base in New Jersey, infants at the onsite school sang along with the Royals to the childhood classic 'Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes'... which the couple apparently revealed is a big hit with Archie. So much so, it's actually his favourite song.
