A new portrait of the Prince and Princess of Wales alongside King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort has been released.

The portrait of the royals is their first since the passing of the Queen, as well the first since receiving their new titles.

Taken on 18 September, the photograph features the four royals wearing black in honour of the official mourning period.

In the image, Kate stands with her arm around Prince William, while King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort stand beside them arm in arm with each other. All four smile at the camera from Buckingham Palace, where the photograph was taken.

The portrait was shared on the official Royal Family Instagram account, which now bears an image of the King and Queen Consort as the display icon.

A caption alongside the post read, “Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort with Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales,” and added that it had been taken on 18 September.

Since the end of the mourning period, the Princess of Wales has had two official engagements; her first to Wales alongside Prince William and the other alone, to meet members of the Royal Navy.
