The Prince and Princess of Wales bring their children to enjoy volunteer day with Scouts

The Prince and Princess of Wales took part in a special Coronation volunteer day with their three children on Monday (8 May).

The Big Help Out was designed to encourage people across the nation to get involved with volunteering in their communities. To support the initiative, Prince William and Kate got stuck in by bringing Princes Georgie and Louis and Princess Charlotte to a special event with The Scouts.

In a busy day of activities, the royals took part in a number of exciting projects. For instance, both Prince George and Prince Louis took it in turns to sit with their dad in a digger, which they had a go at operating together.

Photographs from the fun day out also show Kate, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte emptying a wheelbarrow as part of another activity, while the family later toasted marshmallows together. Kate and the children also had a go at archery.

The young royals even got involved with some DIY, as Prince George was shown how to drill a screw and Princess Charlotte tried wood staining.

The Prince and Princess of Wales shared photos from the day on their official instagram account captioning it, "#TheBigHelpOut with The @scouts."

The Big Help Out took place on the bank holiday Monday (8 May) of the Coronation weekend, following three days of exciting events.

After the Coronation ceremony on Saturday (6 May), a special Coronation Concert took place in the grounds of Windsor Castle on Sunday (7 May), which the Prince and Princess of Wales attended with their two eldest children.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte joined their parents in the crowd, but Prince Louis was too young to attend the evening event.
