Prince Philip turned 99 yesterday, and as part of the celebrations, members of the royal family have been sharing some of their favourite vintage photos of the Duke of Edinburgh, which has got us feeling all kinds of nostalgic for a throwback.

And in one particular photo of a young Prince Philip, dug out by Royal photographer Chris Jackson and shared on Instagram during Harry and Meghan's royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga in the Autumn of 2018, he bears an uncanny resemblance to grandson Prince Harry.

Jackson noticed the striking similarity between Harry and Philip after discovering a 1957 vintage copy of Paris Match, featuring the Duke of Edinburgh in a white military uniform on the front cover. In a second shot shared on the photographer's Instagram post, Prince Harry can be seen wearing the same military regalia during the opening ceremony of the Anzac Memorial. And, well, just look. They're the spitting image of one another.

'I spotted this beautiful 1957 vintage cover of a @parismatch_magazine whilst visiting our wedding venue in France a couple of years ago - Who does it remind you of!?,' Jackson wrote on Instagram.

'Swipe right to see! I think it may have been colourised from a black and white negative but correct me if I'm wrong. Was very happy when the lovely people at @chateaurigaud let me keep it!

'Whilst today it's very much a "Modern Monarchy" it's these historical reference points that make photographing the Royal family so unique and remind you of the centuries of tradition that remain at their core.'

Who knew a beard could make grandfather and grandson look so alike?

Prince Harry and Prince Philip have long held a special relationship, with Prince Harry previously holding the position of Captain General Royal Marines before he stepped down from his royal duties - a title that was held by the Duke of Edinburgh beforehand, since 1953.

Prince Philip celebrated his 99th birthday with Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle, where the pair are isolating because of the pandemic. In a rare, new portrait of the couple released to mark Philip's birthday, the royals can be seen posing in the garden with the castle as a backdrop.
