Prince Harry's comforting words to grieving boy who lost his mum

During their walkabout at the viaduct in Auckland on Tuesday, the Duke of Sussex had some comforting words for a six-year-old boy, who lost his mother when he was a baby.

News Corp Australia captured the moment Harry approached Otia Nante and his grandmother Te Nante, 52, who said: “He really looks up to you, because he actually lost his mummy too.”

The Duke asked Otia how old he was when his mother passed away.

His grandmother revealed he was “nearly one.”

Harry, who was 12 when his mother Princess Diana died, said: “Don’t you worry about having just one parent, where’s your dad?”

Te explained that she was raising him.

Harry told Otia: “Life will always be alright, you know that? I’ve made it to 34 years old, and life is great.

“I have a beautiful wife and a baby on the way. Your life is going to be sorted. Don’t you worry about that.”

The Duke then posed for a selfie with the youngster, who had also written him a letter.

During the same walkabout, the Duchess got a surprise from an old friend in the crowd.

Avid fan Hannah had spoken about her battles with her mental health on Instagram and Meghan used to regularly private message her on the platform, offering her advice and support, before she deactivated her account.

Harry and Meghan concluded their 16-day royal tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand on Wednesday. The couple travelled to Rotorua where they visited a Kiwi Breeding Programme, met the public during a final walkabout and learned about the Redwoods Tree Walk.
