Royal fanatics were stunned when they thought they spotted Prince Harry back on British soil during his milestone 40th birthday celebrations. Turning the big 4-0 on Sunday (September 15), the Duke of Sussex, who's been calling Montecito, California home alongside wife Meghan Markle post-Megxit, garnered birthday love across social media from admirers and relatives alike, despite his sparse visits to the UK of late.

Yet, it caused quite a stir among the London crowd when an individual bearing an uncanny resemblance to Prince Harry was seen soaking up the pub atmosphere over the weekend. As it turned out, the 'royal sighting' was nothing more than a wax doppelganger. In a touching tribute, Madame Tussauds lent their impressively lifelike waxwork of the Duke to The Duke of Sussex pub in Peckham, celebrating the prince's namesake in style, complete with Meghan's wax counterpart by his side. Virgin Media News took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the quirky story: "In London, The #DukeofSussex pub in Peckham marked #PrinceHarry's 40th birthday with a special celebration."

Royal fans were brimming with good wishes, as one adoring follower gushed: "Happy Birthday to our one and only Prince Henry [Harry's birth name]. The Duke of Sussex."

Yet another fan lamented a missed opportunity, sharing: "Wow had I been to London this weekend was going to go there and have a pint."

Not everyone was impressed by the Royal wax figures though, with a skeptic commenting bluntly: "No one else wanted it so what the heck....."

Adding a touch of humor, another observer joked: "Did they pull the figures out of the dumpster behind Tussauds? No one is interested in them anymore."
