Prince Harry has opened up about his recent private meeting with the Queen, sharing details on what was said between the pair as they sat down together on Thursday - and it sounds so sweet!
The Duke of Sussex's reunion with the Queen came as he and Meghan Markle stopped over in the UK while on their way to the 2022 Invictus Games in the Netherlands. It was previously reported that the pair had made a secret visit to the Queen at Windsor Castle, the monarch's main residence, according to their press office. They're also said to have met up with Harry's father Prince Charles during the trip.
Now, Harry himself has revealed the moments shared between him and the Queen, and it's all very lovely.
Appearing on the BBC as part of the 2022 Invictus Games coverage (of which Harry is founder), the Duke was asked about his meeting with his grandmother.
Host Alex Jones asked, "On the way here you popped in to see Her Majesty the Queen. Did she have any nice messages for Team UK?"
Harry responded with a smile, saying, "She had plenty of messages for Team UK, which I've already passed on to most of them."
The Duke went on to say that he was glad to have met up with Her Majesty, adding, "So, yeah, it was great to see her. I'm sure she would love to be here if she could."
Prior to their Thursday stopover in the UK, Harry and Meghan hadn't been in the country together since early 2020 when they stood down from their roles as senior working royals. Harry has since visited alone, attending Prince Philip's funeral in April 2021, as well as the unveiling of a statue for his late mother, Princess Diana, in July 2021.
Here's hoping we'll see a full family trip soon!
