Millions of royal family fans tuned in to the ITV documentary that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, made during a working tour around Africa. The programme, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, which aired in October 2019 is now predominantly remembered for the emotional moment when Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was asked by the journalist who accompanied them on the tour, Tom Bradby, how she was doing – to which she candidly admitted she was "not okay".

Bradby, who has also worked closely with Prince William and Kate Middleton (he was asked to conduct the interview following their engagement announcement and subsequently attended their wedding), has now said he believes Prince Harry was left "heartbroken by the situation with his family". Likely in reference to rumours that a rift between the two brothers, and of course Harry's subsequent move to LA and "stepping down" from being a senior working royal.

Speaking during an appearance on Alan Titchmarsh's Love Your Weekend, Bradby, when asked if he thinks the Duke of Sussex is happier in America, replied, "So are they unhappy? No, I think they are content, the things they are doing they are quite excited by." And added, "I think he is heartbroken by the situation with his family, you don’t necessarily need to have knowledge to know that, but I think it is true."

To this, Titchmarsh asked, "Is this the distance between Harry and William?" to whic Bradby responded, "Well, just, you know the situation with the family clearly isn't ideal. It's been a very difficult year for them all and to some extent I felt a little bit caught in the middle of them with that documentary... which was a deeply uncomfortable place to be."

He followed up by saying he didn't want to make "anything worse" or get "in between anything, or anything like that".

While it's likely we'll never really know what's going on between Prince Harry and Prince William (and the rest of the family), it's thought that he and Meghan will be flying over for a little reunion in June – for the Trooping of the Colour event, celebrating the Queen's birthday.

Fingers crossed it'll be a happy occasion for all involved.🤞
