Prince Harry revealed 'weight lifted from shoulders' amid royal rift
Prince Harry admitted that he "felt free" following the release of his memoir, Spare. The 40 year old made the revelation as he sat down with trauma expert Dr. Gabor Maté, a renowned speaker and bestselling author, for what was billed as an '"intimate conversation" about "living with loss and personal healing'" back in March 2023.
The £17 tickets for the livestream also included a hardback copy of Harry's memoir, which was published on 10 January the same year and is the fastest selling non-fiction book of all time. Speaking about the release of his hit autobiography, the Duke said, "Once the book came out, I felt incredibly free. I felt a huge weight off my shoulders.
"But the system, I guess which to some extent I am still part of, doesn't encourage free living."

He added, "A lot of families are complicated and are dysfunctional but for me, when I was doing therapy regularly - once every other week - I suddenly realised that I had learned a new language.
"The people I was surrounded by didn't speak that language, so I actually felt more pushed aside."
In his book, the Duke of Sussex, who was interviewed by Gabor in the Montecito mansion he shares with his wife, Meghan Markle, described his royal life as like "fancy captivity".
Earlier this week, Prince Harry spoke out about the persistent divorce rumours with Meghan Markle employing his trademark humour at the 2024 New York Times DealBook Summit. Harry engaged in a light-hearted exchange with reporters, cheekily laughing off the claims.
Harry made light of why he and Meghan are seldom seen together professionally, sparking rumours of a split. Referring to baseless online rumours he said: "Apparently we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?" He joked to a journalist: "Because you invited me, you should have known," eliciting laughter from those gathered, the Mirror US reports.
He added: "I've had a lived experience since I was a kid, I've seen stories written about myself that aren't exactly based on reality. I've seen stories about members of my family, friends, strangers, all sorts of people. And I think when you grow up within that environment, you do find yourself questioning the validity of the information but also what other people are thinking of that as well, and how dangerous it can be over the course of time."
