The Royal Family might not have their own personal Instagram or Twitter pages, but they’ve embraced the digital age with their official social media accounts managed by their staff.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex use @kensingtonroyal on Instagram to keep their 7.1m followers up to date about their work and travels.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall have @clarencehouse, while the Queen has @theroyalfamily.

Meghan closed down her own personal accounts in January 2018 ahead of her May wedding to Prince Harry.

The former actress had been an active user on Instagram, and boasted over 1.9 million followers, in addition to 350,000 followers on Twitter.

From foodie snaps to mirror selfies and yoga poses on the beach, the former ‘Suits’ star used her accounts to keep her fans updated on her life.

However, one royal correspondent reveals that Prince Harry has a secret Instagram account, in order to keep in contact with friends and see what’s being said about him.

Omid Scobie told Yahoo UK‘s ‘The Royal Box‘: “Prince Harry’s told me that he follows a lot of the royal correspondents on Twitter to see what they’re up to.

“He would come up during a royal tour and say ‘I saw what you wrote yesterday’ and ‘I’ve got my eyes on you,’ it was all very fun but I think Harry does pay close attention to what’s being written about him and of course now, his wife.”

There are a couple of less senior members of the Royal Family, who do have their own personal accounts, such as Princess Eugenie, Sarah Ferguson, Princess Diana’s niece Lady Kitty Spencer and Prince Harry’s cousin Lady Amelia Windsor.

Princess Beatrice’s private page was also revealed by her model friend Karlie Kloss, when she revealed the royal’s reaction to her engagement news on her Instagram story last July.
