Prince Harry and Meghan are "proud" of their decision to leave royal life behind
In the year since Prince Harry and Meghan decided to step down from their roles as senior working members of the royal family, the couple reportedly have no regrets regarding that landmark decision.
In a new epilogue in the book Finding Freedom, by royal reporters Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the authors report that the couple have found their stride in their newfound independence and are "proud" of the work they've done away from the institution of the monarchy.
Since stepping away from royal life, the pair have launched their charity foundation, Archewell; inked massive production deals with Spotify and Netflix; and continue to support and champion causes dear to their hearts. Meghan and Harry both added author to their growing post-royal résumé, too, with the duchess having released her first children's book, The Bench, back in May and Harry set to release a memoir about his life in 2022.
"As difficult as recent years have been, sources close to the Sussexes say that neither Harry nor Meghan have any regrets about the decisions they have made," Scobie and Durand write in the book's updated chapter, per Town & Country. "[These accomplishments are] another sign that [Meghan and Harry] had made the right decision to step back from royal roles, not only for their family but for their focus on social issues and helping the world."
According to People, the couple are looking forward to a new "era of visibility" once the Covid-19 pandemic allows for more in-person events and interaction.
"They're a couple who do very well in those moments of human interaction," Scobie told the publication recently. "They need to be on the ground."
