As well as celebrating the Queen's history-making 70-year reign (with a whole host of festivities including this memorable Buckingham Palace Balcony moment and the Platinum Pageant), the Royal Family marked another important milestone this weekend: Lilibet Diana's first birthday!

Yep, the little royal – whose parents are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – turned one on Saturday 4 June. And, not only was this her very first birthday, but also her first time meeting the rest of Royal Family as she visited the UK. So, how did the royals celebrate Lilibet's birthday?

According to The Sun, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hosted an informal garden party at their former home, Frogmore Cottage, with picnic-style snacks, a birthday cake, balloons and party games.

"It was a lovely do and had everything you’d expect from a child’s birthday party," a source close to the Sussex family told The Sun. "But there was no formal entertainment. The idea was for it to be very relaxed and casual, with people free to pop in and out as they wished."

As for who those people were, the guest list reportedly featured a number of royals including Zara and Mike Tindall (as well as their three children), and Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly (along with their two kids). Archie Harrison's godfather Charlie Van Straubenzee was also in attendance, in addition to his brother Tom, who is Princess Charlotte’s godfather.

"It was a nice opportunity for the other royal children to meet Lilibet for the first time," the royal insider added.

On the topic of presents, the source revealed the little royal was the recipient of plenty enviable gifts, too. "And as her first birthday is such a milestone, there was lots of discussion ahead of time about the presents that she would be given on the day," the insider told The Sun. "One idea that proved very popular was a £75 pink Volkswagen Beetle ride-on toy, which had been spotted in Selfridges."

Erm, a mini Volkswagen Beetle! How bloody cute does that sound!?
