The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed that they are expecting their second child.

"We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child," a spokesperson for the royal couple revealed on Sunday (14th February).

The pair shared a black and white photo to announce the news, which featured Meghan lying with her head on Harry's lap with her hand on her bump.

The picture was taken remotely by longtime friend of the couple, and photographer, Misan Harriman. He shared the image on his Instagram page, adding the caption: "Meg, I was there at your wedding to witness this love story begin, and my friend, I am honoured to capture it grow. Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyous news!"

Creative director and cultural commentator Harriman recently became the first black person in the 104 year history of British Vogue to shoot the cover of its September issue.

Prince Harry and Meghan welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor back in May, 2019. Following their landmark decision to step back from their senior royal duties last year, the family have relocated to Montecito in California.

Archie recently made his debut on the royal couple's podcast Archewell Audio on Spotify. They launched the Archewell Foundation in honour of their 18-month-old son last year, which is a non-profit organisation which aims to drive systemic cultural change across all communities.

"Our little man is our number one priority, but our work after that is the second priority," Harry recently said. "And we’re just trying to do everything we can to do our part to make the world a better place."
