Prince Harry has 'changed considerably' since meeting Meghan, says royal insider

Prince Harry is said to be so ‘enthralled’ with wife Meghan that he has ‘changed considerably’, which is ultimately the reason behind the now strained relationship with his brother William, according to royal insiders.

Speaking on Channel 5 documentary Kate V Meghan: Princesses At War royal insider Lady Colin Campbell, who was a confidante of Princess Diana, said Harry is “beguiled” by Meghan.

“Everything I hear is that Harry is completely beguiled by Meghan and completely enthralled to her and has changed considerably,” the 69-year-old, who still has close royal connections, said.

“People do change when they get married.”

Just one example of the change was highlighted by reports last week that suggested the Duchess of Sussex had banned Prince Harry from drinking alcohol and anything with caffeine in it, including tea and coffee.

Instead, she’s been urging Harry to replace his caffeine urges with water, which has apparently left the royal family ‘amazed’ at the difference in the Duke.

“Considering he’s been a pretty brutal drinker since he was a young teenager, it’s quite an achievement,” a source close to the pair told The Express.

“Now his new regime doesn’t make him the most entertaining party guest in the world, but he’s definitely more chilled and relaxed.”

It’s also been reported that Harry has taken up exercise and even joins in on Meghan’s daily yoga sessions.

While rumours of a feud have centred around apparent disagreements between duchesses Meghan and Kate, the programme claimed the rift is really between brothers Harry and William.

It all goes back to Harry feeling ‘criticised’ for his choice of bride.

The relationship between the pair hasn’t been the same since shortly after Harry and Meghan announced their engagement at the end of 2017, according to royal author Katie Nicholl.

“And I think what was meant as well intended brotherly advice [from William] just riled Harry,” she told the programme.

“Harry is hugely protective of Meghan, he saw that as criticism, he interpreted that as his brother not really being behind this marriage and I don’t think things have been quite right ever since.”

Speaking on the same documentary, Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell had some advice for the Duchess of Sussex.

“Buckingham Palace… it’s like Downton [Abbey] on speed,” Paul said on the Channel 5 programme.

“Meghan should stay close to Harry and get to know his granny. She’s the one that matters most.”

Paul also said Meghan was coming out of things “like quite a diva”, warning her about the fact she would one day have to “curtsy to Queen Kate”.
