Prince Harry has returned back to his home in California, after reuniting with brother Prince William for the much-anticipated unveiling of a statue of Princess Diana, on what would have been her 60th birthday.

The duke was seen making his way to the airport today, following yesterday's well-publicised event at Kensington Palace — his first pre-arranged public engagement with William in well over a year and the first time the pair have been publicly photographed together since Prince Philip's funeral back in April.

Harry's hasty exit from the UK is likely due to him rushing back home to wife Meghan's side, after it was revealed that her paternal uncle, Michael Markle, had sadly passed away this week at the age of 82. It's understood that Mr Markle — who was the older brother of Meghan's father Thomas — had been battling Parkinson's disease for a number of years and had suffered a number of falls due to the condition, which impacts the body's nerve cells.

Although Meghan has not publicly commented the family's tragic loss, it's been claimed that 'Mike' was very proud of his niece's TV career and her achievements as a member of the royal family. According to Hello! magazine, Meghan — who recently gave birth to the couple's second child Lilibet — will be mourning the death privately at her home in Montecito, which she shares with Prince Harry, 2-year-old Archie and their newborn baby daughter.

Prince Harry has been in the UK since last week, arriving early to comply with government Covid quarantine rules, prior to Thursday's event.
