Prince George's favourite meal is surprisingly normal
You know the line on Mean Girls, where Janis says she loves seeing teachers outside of school and compares it to "seeing a dog walk on its hind legs" in terms of fascination levels? Yeah, that's pretty much how we feel whenever we hear about a member of the royal family, doing, saying or enjoying something that us normal folk are into too (Exhibit A: when Prince William confessed his love for Nando's).
In keeping with that foodie revelation, we were equally delighted to recently learn that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's eldest son, Prince George, also has a pretty down to earth palate. As per a new interview with the Daily Mail, chef Aldo Zilli shared the rather marvellous tidbit that George's favourite dish is a simple Italian dish: carbonara.

Zilli has had many interactions with George's father, Prince William, over the years (they're both involved with the homelessness charity, Centrepoint) and described the future king as being "amazing" and joked that he was waiting on a call to cook the Cambridge family a good meal. "William's amazing – I'm waiting for the call because apparently his little boy's favourite is spaghetti carbonara," said Zilli ."So I'm waiting for the call to go and cook it for him."
What else is on the menu for the seven-year-old? Well, we know that the school meals at Thomas's Battersea (where both George and his sister, Princess Charlotte study) are pretty snazzy: sample menus on the school's website show that each day includes a mid-morning snack, bread and soup, a main course and a pudding. Examples of meals include French onion soups, salmon dishes with dauphinoise potatoes, whole-wheat twisty pasta, Mediterranean couscous and baked smoked mackerel served on a bed of puy lentils.
George's mother, Kate Middleton, has also said she enjoys baking with her children at home – and Prince William has also publicly spoken about the family partaking in a lot of it during lockdown (same tbh).
And finally, if you wanted further evidence that sometimes the royals are (on occasion) pretty relatable, may we remind you of the time that Kate was spotted in Sainsbury's doing a last minute mad dash for Halloween costumes for her kids? Gotta love it.
