Rather than receive a Scalextric car set, a trip to London Zoo, or a toy plane, Prince George has been honoured with his very own £5 coin to celebrate his fifth birthday.

On Wednesday, The Royal Mint - which produces coins for the UK - unveiled a commemorative coin issued for the celebration of the royal's big day on 22 July.

‘The birth of Prince George altered the course of history in the United Kingdom, and we are pleased to be marking the fifth birthday of our future king,’ said Nicola Howell, director of consumer business at The Royal Mint.

The coin features the legend of St. George and the Dragon on one side and the portrait of George's great grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, on the other.

However, this isn’t the first time Kate Middleton and Prince William’s eldest son has received such an honour, pur-lease!

The Royal Mint also issued commemorative coins for George's first and second birthdays, as well as for his christening.

If that wasn’t enough, the coin and medal maker also gave out ‘lucky’ silver pennies to babies born on his birthday back in 2013.

So, basically, what we’re saying is that George has been rollin’ in that ‘dollar dollar’ for a long time.

However, if you want to get your hands on George’s new coin, it’ll cost you a pretty penny or two.

The uncirculated £5 coin will be sold for £13, the silver proof version will cost a whopping £82.50 and a celebration sovereign will be sold for over £500. However, only 750 gold coins will be made available.

Serious, G, you’re killing us over here!

The celebration sovereign will be struck in 22 carat gold on George's birthday.
