Prince Charles’ former aide keeps silent over honour claims

A former aide to Prince Charles declines to answer questions about allegations he helped secure an honour for a rich Saudi donor. The Sunday Times reported Saudi businessman Mahfouz Marei Mubarak donated large amounts to restoration projects of interest to Prince Charles. He was awarded a CBE at Buckingham Palace in a private ceremony in 2016 according to the newspaper. Michael Fawcett, a former assistant valet to the Prince of Wales has temporarily left his job as chief executive of The Prince’s Foundation while an investigation takes place. The paper added that the tycoon denies any wrongdoing.
