If we were to tell you that the GH team lives mostly on cheese and wine, that would sound pretty believable, right? Well, what if we told you Prince Charles has revealed that his beloved Aston Martin also runs on cheese and wine? A little less believable, yes? Well, no actually – it’s true.

The Prince Of Wales recently spoke about the fact that he’d found a more environmentally-friendly way of running his car and it includes two of our favourite things.

Speaking about climate change, amongst other things, to the BBC, Charles said he’s doing his bit for the environment by using waste products as fuel for his Aston Martin.

When asked if he was “a bit of a Jeremy Clarkson, a bit of a petrol-head?”, Charles responded by saying, “Well, yes, but that was before we knew what the problems were."

He said he had converted his Aston Martin, which he’s had for 51 years, to run on what he described as “surplus English white wine and whey from the cheese process”.

It’s been modified to run on a fuel called E85, which is made up of 85% bioethanol and 15% unleaded petrol. Bioethanol can be derived from different sources including surplus wine and alcohol extracted from fermented whey.

What a lucky car – being constantly pumped full of wine and cheese. Now that’s the life for us.
