Presenter Anna Richardson 'keen' to pursue adoption plans

Anna Richardson has revealed she is moving forwards with plans to adopt after splitting from her long-term partner Sue Perkins.

The Naked Attraction star and the former Great British Bake Off presenter are thought to have called time on their relationship earlier this year, after seven years of dating.

Richardson, 51, previously suggested she wanted to become a mum and has now told the Express that starting a family is still very much on the cards.

“I'm still pursuing that, I am very much in touch with Adoption UK because I did a podcast for them last year,” she was quoted as saying.

"I'm very keen to press ahead with creating a family, yes."

Last year Richardson said that she had been thinking about fostering or adopting for some time and that the coronavirus pandemic focused her mind on the things she still wanted to do.

"I didn't have children and there's something seismic about your fertility coming to an end with the menopause, which I'm now going through,” she told Hello magazine.

“You suddenly think, 'But I still have this desire to look after someone, to make a difference to a child who perhaps didn't have the same opportunities as me.' So I'm keen to explore that."
