Amal Clooney Nails The Turban Trend During Star-Studded Audience With The Pope

George and Amal Clooney are one high-flying couple. As well as acting in box office hits (George), Nespresso ads (George again) and juggling lawyer-related responsibilities (Amal), the couple squeezed in an audience with Pope Francis this weekend in Italy.

The duo attended the pontiff’s Un Muro o Un Ponte Seminary on Sunday during their visit to Vatican City, where George accepted a medal for his work with the Pope’s Scholas Occurentes programme: an art project. Looking dapper in a blue suit and striped tie, the 55-year-old star was as well dressed as always.

However, all eyes were on human rights lawyer Amal, 38, who oozed sartorial prowess in a black lace Atelier Versace midi dress. The demure dress was relatively understated and would’ve gone without hitting the headlines - if it wasn’t for her turban.

Effortlessly pulling off the vintage-inspired headpiece, Amal proved that she can work any trend, rocking the hat like a pro - where many before her have failed.

Everyone from Kylie Minogue to Kate Moss have attempted to work a turban in the past, with some celebs looking better in the unconventional headgear than others.

Amal accessorised with a nude clutch bag and Jimmy Choo shoes.
