Poshest suburb in Britain where the average wage is a massive £150,000
The average wage in Britain's poshest suburb is a massive £150,000 but a house will cost you over £1.5m.
Herne Hill, a leafy suburb in South London has been crowned as one of the most upmarket areas in Britain.
The area was once overlooked by neighbouring Brixton and Dulwich, however it is now thought to be one of London's most desirable places to live. Herne Hill is very close to central London making it ideal for commuters. And it has a village-like charm, something which residents believe has added to its popularity over the past few decades.

It is home to Brockwell Park, one of London's favourite parks. It has stunning views of the city's skyline which attracts crowds of tourists. Herne Hill also has a 1930s open-air swimming pool, along with a vibrant community garden, sports facilities, and several ideal picnic spots, reports the Mirror.
The area boasts a range of independent businesses, including artisan coffee shops, delis, restaurants, unique boutiques, bookshops, and lively pubs like The Prince Regent and The Half Moon. A thriving arts and music scene contributes to its strong community spirit.
It's no surprise then that The Telegraph has named it one of Britain's poshest suburbs. Marc Wiehe of Winkworth estate agents confirmed that Herne Hill is now one of the most sought-after areas in south London.
Speaking to The Telegraph, the estate agent revealed that the "creative crowd" flocked towards Brixton, while younger families tended to opt for Dulwich. But Herne Hill's status as a hidden gem is no more - the secret is out. Highlighting the area's appeal, he mentioned its charming Victorian and Edwardian properties.
Another major plus is the transport links; Herne Hill station gets you to London Victoria in just 10 minutes, and Thameslink services reach St Pancras swiftly, not to mention the bus routes linking to nearby districts.
It's this blend of excellent accessibility, leafy surroundings, and community spirit that cements Herne Hill's position as one of London's coveted 'hidden gems'. Balancing tranquillity with urban energy, it has become a hotspot for both families and young professionals.
