Artisan bread shops, equestrian equipment and detached houses are among the key features that make a British town 'posh', according Reddit users.
Debating what defines an affluent area in the UK, one man asked: "What are some things you absolutely only ever find in a posh area? I was thinking of things like bistros or bespoke cake shops, but nope. There's some near where I live and that's not posh."
It wasn't long before hundreds of users joined in, sharing characteristics they have spotted in posh areas. One person explained for them it was butcher's shops with whole pheasants hanging on display with the feathers still on, while another said country stores that sell tweeds, horse tack, expensive wellies and shotguns is what makes an area wealthy.
Another said: "Car boot sales that are more like the antiques roadshow than a flea market and more likely to be in a nice meadow next to a church than say, the asphalt carpark of a local smelting factory."
House prices might be on the up, but living in an expensive property is not necessarily something that makes you posh. In fact, other features include flowers on lampposts, red phone boxes, and bespoke kitchen and bathroom showrooms.
