Police arrest man in connection with 'horrific' attack on schoolgirl, 12

Police have arrested a man in connection with an “horrific” incident in which a 12-year-old schoolgirl was thrown to the ground while a robber snatched her mobile phone.

Dramatic CCTV footage of the incident showed the girl being thrown to the ground several times as she desperately tried to keep hold of her iPhone 6.

The schoolgirl was on her way home to her mum at around 4.40pm on February 18 after running an errand at the local shops.
