Police are appealing for witnesses after runner left with serious injuries after collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a runner has been left with serious injuries after a collision with a car in the Worden Park car park in Lancashire. The collision happened at around 7.20pm on Thursday 13 June.

The female runner, aged 36, was left with a number of serious fractures and lacerations. She was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital where she is in a serious but stable condition.

The driver was driving a Vauxhall Astra, and has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has any more information is being urged to get in touch with the police.
