A number of playparks have been transformed with exciting new features as part of a £1.1million investment.

After receiving local feedback, parks in various towns across Renfrewshire have been fitted out with new swings, roundabouts, multi-play units, rope nets and more.

Work is underway and nearly completed at Campbell Street in Renfrew, Ardgryffe Park in Houston, Churchill Drive in Bishopton, Crags Road in Paisley, Elm Drive/Sycamore Avenue in Johnstone and Dunvegan Avenue in Elderslie.

Councillor Michelle Campbell, who is the convener of Renfrewshire Council’s infrastructure, land and environment policy board, said: “We recognise that play parks are key parts of our communities which give young people and families a place to visit to become more active and have fun.

“This investment has been significant and has meant towns and villages across Renfrewshire have seen a boost to their community facilities, with play equipment that they’ve asked for being installed into their local play parks.

“I’m delighted to see the latest set are getting ready to open and we’ll continue to work with local people to ensure we create exciting, inclusive play parks for them to visit in Renfrewshire.”
