The test flight had no passengers on board. It took off from Hamburg Airport in Germany and returned to the same city.

During the flight of the A380 flown by Emirates, the aircraft made circular manoeuvres at more than 40,000ft to create baubles and zig-zags to recreate the shape of the tree.

The flight passed Cologne, Frankfurt and Stuttgart along the way.
