Pilot forced to make emergency landing after passenger’s smelly farts causes fight

A pilot was forced to make an emergency landing after a fight broke out due to a plane passenger’s chronic flatulence.

The passenger, reportedly obese and reluctant to stop breaking wind, caused a massive punch-up while travelling from Dubai to Amsterdam Schiphol airport with Transavia Airlines.

Understandably, the two Dutchman sitting next to the gassy passenger requested the crew on flight HV6902 do something.

There was little the cabin crew could do, so when the passenger persisted with loud and smelly flatulence, a fight broke out.

The ruckus forced the pilot of the Dutch low-cost airline to make an emergency landing at Vienna airport in Austria.

Police boarded the plane and removed four passengers.

A police spokesman confirmed that the row was started by a passenger suffering from wind who was making little effort to restrain himself and that this offended the two young Dutchmen.

As well as the two Dutchmen, police also escorted two young women off the plane. The women were sisters, identified only as Nora L., 25, due to local privacy laws and her unnamed sister, are both from Rotterdam.

The young women claimed the treatment they received was unfair and they had little to do with the incident – both the farting and subsequent fight.

Nora said: ‘It was crazy that we were included, we had no idea who these boys were, we just had the bad luck to be in the same row and we didn’t do anything. All I will say is that the crew were really provocative and stirred things up.’

A spokesman for the airline told local media that the four people have now received a ban from any further travels, and in order to complete their journey they needed to find another airline to take them to Amsterdam.

They were not arrested because they had not broken Austrian law.
