Was there ever a more festive flavour than pigs in blankets? Yeah, I guess turkey is pretty Christmas-y, and so is cinnamon, and actually, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without Baileys. But we’re not here to talk about any of that lot. We’re solely here to tell you about a new pigs in blankets-inspired snack. And we’re pretty sure you’re going to love it.
Sainsbury’s is selling pigs in blankets flavoured instant noodles, and after trying them personally, I can 100% confirm that they do indeed taste like tiny little sausages wrapped in bacon. There’s an amazing taste of stuffing, like a really lovely, herby sausage – lots of sage.
The pigs in blankets noodle pot would make for a quick and easy lunch, as all you have to do is add boiling water and leave to sit for a couple of minutes. And if you wanted to pimp your noodles and give them a little upgrade, you could even fry some bacon lardons, and mix those through – bulk it out a bit, ya know?
You can pick up one of Sainsbury’s pigs in blankets instant noodles pots for just £1. Even more reason to stock up.
Now, if you’re looking for something sweet to follow your festive noodles, maybe pigs in blankets chocolates are up your alley. Or maybe not…
Paul A Young has launched the festive, erm, treat, and we’re just not sure about it, tbh. The chocolates feature a smoky 75% Papua New Guinea chocolate shell, which encases a ganache; infused with herbs like sage and thyme, as well as black garlic, ginger, salt and pepper, and even a smidge of Marmite, because, why not at this point?
Perhaps will stick with the noodles for now actually…
