Unless… could they actually be delicious?
Paul A Young is the master chocolatier behind this nightmare before Christmas. The company, which is known for including slightly unusual flavours into its chocolates, has crafted these vegan-friendly, limited-edition chocolates.
A smoky 75% Papua New Guinea chocolate shell encases a ganache, which has been infused with herbs like sage and thyme, as well as black garlic, ginger, salt and pepper, and even a smidge of Marmite, because, why not at this point?
The whole thing looks like an adorable little chipolata wrapped in streaky bacon. It’s all very confusing.
Paul said of the new chocolates: “It's very exciting as a chocolatier to have the opportunity to create unique and stand out products that will spark so much conversation and joy.
“Creating the pigs in blankets chocolates has been one of the most enjoyable product development projects I've had to work on. It's exactly what I enjoy, creating a unique inspiring chocolate to taste like sausage and bacon and to be vegan friendly.
“Using Papua New Guinea couverture from British chocolate producer Firetree allowed me to enhance its already smoky character and add an aromatic ganache with all the flavours of herbs and spices. It's the perfect festive chocolate!”
The festive chocolates have been created in collaboration with Sony Christmas: the TV channel showing festive films all the live-long day from 24 September.
You can get your sticky little fingers on a box of the limited-edition Paul A Young pigs in blankets chocolates for a month from 24 September. They’ll set you back £18.60.
