In Friday night’s episode of the BBC panel show, Piers’ name came up when Adil mentioned that he’d filled in for the controversial presenter on ITV’s GMB.
“You know what?” he joked. “The best thing about standing in for Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain is that you don’t have to meet Piers Morgan.”
Unsurprisingly, Piers was quick to fire back, writing on Twitter that the “best thing about Adil filling in for me is he always tanks the ratings”.

Adil then wrote his own response in the style of US president Donald Trump, who Piers has stuck up for on more than one occasion, and even interviewed for Good Morning Britain.
HuffPost UK has contacted a Good Morning Britain spokesperson for further comment.
Adil had been filling in on Good Morning Britain in the last couple of weeks while Piers took a break from hosting, but he returned with a vengeance on Monday and got straight back to business.
On his first day back, he somehow managed to sneak in a number of digs at Chrissy Teigen, after it was revealed her husband John Legend had recorded a new version of Baby, It’s Cold Outside with lyrics that removed some of the song’s more creepy undertones.
Following this, he also laid into Harry Potter star Emma Watson after she revealed she considers herself “self-partnered” rather than single, and went on to celebrate not being investigated by Ofcom, despite almost 1000 complaints to the media watchdog over the way Piers has discussed gender on Good Morning Britain in the past.
Good Morning Britain airs every weekday from 6am on ITV.
