Piers Morgan blocks Beverley Turner on Twitter after she refuses to join clap for Captain Tom
Piers Morgan has had a pop at fellow TV presenter Beverley Turner after she revealed she would not be clapping for Captain Sir Tom Moore.
The Homes Live presenter decided not to participate as the nation clapped for Sir Tom, who died this week at the age of 100 after contracting the coronavirus - a decision that Morgan said was “so pathetic”.
Turner had told her followers on Twitter: “#SirTomMoore and his family did a brilliant job of raising £ for the nhs.

“It's great that he lived to 100! It's awesome that he got one last fab holiday.
“But I'm not clapping in the St to maintain the fear that imminent death is all around & we're all in this together.
“We're not.”
However, Morgan took issue with Turner’s comment.

Sharing her tweet on his own account, he wrote: “This is so pathetic.”

Turner, the former wife of Olympian James Cracknell, later posted another message on Twitter saying that the Good Morning Britain presenter had also blocked her on the site.
She wrote: “Must have touched a nerve as been blocked by @piersmorgan.
“I don't think he liked the fact that it seems - by many of your reactions - that I wasn't completely wrong...

Morgan was among a host of stars who stepped outside to clap for Sir Tom at 6pm on Wednesday evening.
The broadcaster had previously told of his sadness at the death of the veteran, who rose to public attention in 2020 as he raised millions for NHS charities amid the coronavirus pandemic by walking 100 lengths of his garden.

Writing on Instagram, Morgan said he had met Sir Tom and that he had “lived up to every expectation”.
“He was a genuine, lovely man,” he said.
