Phillip Schofield horrifies Cast Away viewers as he flashes naked bottom on final night on island
Phillip Schofield ’s three part reality series Cast Away came to an end on Wednesday 2 October, but before he left the island where he had spent 10 days contemplating his life and TV career, the former This Morning presenter left viewers with a memory of his bare rear end as he ran naked into the sea on the last evening of his adventure.
Many of those who were treated to the sight of Phillip’s bottom disappearing into the night took to social media to comment on the surprising vision they had just witnessed. One viewer wrote: “Why’s Phillip Schofield just ran across my tv naked may I ask?” while a second said: “Did any of us need to see him naked? Narcissist.” Another suggested his next foray into TV should be as a contestant on Naked Attraction, while a fourth joked: “The cracks are starting to show on the island.” There were many more comments including: “Just saw phillip schofield’s a** who at channel 5 approved that,” and “#phillipschofield skinny dipping is not something I wanted to see midweek.”
The three episode TV series that featured Phillip fending for himself on a deserted island near Madagascar had him baring all emotionally and, thanks to the final episode, physically as well. The show has had a mixed reception, with many viewers feeling quite negative about the former star’s return to television – or “telly” as he prefers to call it. Before the show launched, the 62 year old explained why he had chosen the island adventure as a way of talking about his experiences since he left This Morning following a scandal last year.

“It appealed to me on so many levels. I’ve recently had a lot of time to think about my life, what went right and what went wrong, but I’ve always had the safe arms of friends and family wrapped around me,” he said. “This time it’s just me, no phone, no comforts, no crew and only lip balm as a luxury.” Guy Davies, Channel 5’s commissioning editor added: “This isn’t just a survival challenge, it's a chance for Phillip to look back over the last explosive 18 months of his life, and explore what happened. The audience will learn how he feels now about television and the future, as well as the past. And it will be Phillip Schofield as we have never seen him before – unguarded, emotional and brutally honest…”
His “brutally honest” bombshells during his time on the island included Phillip claiming he “was fired” and didn’t quit his role on This Morning, despite him releasing a resignation statement in May 2023, his feelings about being "thrown under a bus” by colleagues, and also his revelation that he will not be returning to presenting, nor will he be seen on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! later this year.
