Peter Andre: 'I waited until time was right to tell Junior and Princess about Emily relationship'
Peter Andre exercised caution when introducing his romance with now-wife Emily to his children from his marriage to Katie Price.
After Katie and Peter, who are parents to Junior, 17, and 15-year-old Princess, split in 2009, the singer kept a fairly low profile when it came to dating.
He went public with doctor Emily, 33, three years later, but has revealed it took him a while for her to be around his kids.
"Everyone handles things differently, but I remember being very conscious about not introducing anyone to the kids until I felt the time was right," the 49-year-old wrote in his OK! magazine column.
"Emily and I were friends for two years before we started dating, so Princess and Junior knew her as a family friend. Even when we started dating she never stayed over when they were there. We waited until I knew how serious we were."
The pair tied the knot in 2015 and are parents to Amelia, eight, and Theodore, five.
Peter's famous ex also expanded her brood - she shares nine-year-old son Jet and daughter Bunny, eight, with her third ex-husband Kieran Hayler.
Katie, 44, is currently engaged to Carl Woods. She was also briefly married to Alex Reid and engaged to Kris Boyson and Leandro Penna after her divorce from Peter.
