Peter Andre has confirmed that he is returning to the world of reality TV, allowing cameras into his life and the lives of some of his children.

The 49-year-old star told The Sun that the new show will focus on Junior and Princess — his two children with ex-wife Katie Price — as the former launches his music career.

Andre last starred in a reality series almost a decade ago when Peter Andre: My Life ended in 2013, serving as a sequel to the numerous series he made during his relationship with Price.

"Over the years I’ve constantly been asked if I’d ever bring [the series] back and the answer has always been no," said Andre.

He added: "But it’s about doing it slightly differently and the kids are older now. Princess is about to do her GCSEs and Junior is starting out in the music industry, so we’ll be able to show the two very different sides of teenage life."

Junior signed a deal with Columbia Records last year and thanked his father for his encouragement in taking his first steps into the music world.

The Mysterious Girl singer's son and daughter with current wife Emily will not feature in the documentary, with the couple having kept them away from the public eye since their birth.

He said: "Emily always said no. She wanted to keep their childhood private. But if Amelia gets to an age, when she’s 13 or 14, and wants to start doing stuff then we will discuss it."

Andre is currently performing on the West End stage as Vince Fontaine in the Dominion Theatre production of Grease, but has had to miss several shows this week due to illness.

"I’m writing a couple of songs for a movie soundtrack, have some more TV presenting coming up and am in Grease on the West End stage, which has been a dream come true for me," the star said.

Meanwhile, he has been in the headlines for slightly less positive reasons recently after comments Rebekah Vardy made in a newspaper interview about having sex with the star resurfaced during the Wagatha Christie libel trial.

Andre said on Loose Women this week: "It's not fair that something like this can happen again and again and again and we talk about all sorts of things, about mental health, about being kind and all that sort of stuff, and nothing seems to change."
