People Who "Won The Genetic Lottery" Are Sharing Their Unbelievable Qualities, And I'm Definitely Jealous
Some people are just lucky enough to be born with an unfathomable amount of genetic luck on their side...
So, when Reddit user u/askredditiscool posed the question, "People who have "won the genetic lottery, what qualities do you have?" To r/AskReddit, I knew I had to know what I was missing out on:
1."I'm not allergic to mosquito spit. So they bite me, and I feel the pinprick, but I never get that red, swollen, itchy-as-hell welt. I also apparently taste bad enough to them that they will go for anyone else in the area before me."
2."My teeth are nearly perfect. Whenever I switch dentists, they are a bit stunned at the first appointment. My husband hates me for it."
3."I'm in my late twenties and still eat whatever I like without gaining weight: steak, fried chicken, cheeseburgers — none of it stays in my belly, and my cholesterol is very low (according to my doctor). I also seem to have inherited a taste for alcohol from both sides of my family. But apart from drinking champagne, I don't get hangovers."
4."Strong bones. At age 72, I've fallen several times in the last few years (low blood pressure) and have never broken a bone in my life."
5."I’m a woman who doesn’t grow leg hair. All my friends are very, very jealous about this lol."
6."I'm double-jointed in both my shoulders. I never need help scratching my back or scrubbing it in the shower. Can't think of a more useful example of being double jointed, except maybe your thumbs."
7."I inherited the sleep button gene from my grandfather. When I want to fall asleep, I just... do... in a matter of minutes. I haven't struggled with falling asleep/waking up more than ten times in my entire lifetime."
8."Five children, and I’m lower than my prepregnant weight (I’m petite, curvy in the right places), along with next to no stretch marks, and I’m told I look at least 10 years younger than my age."
"I see myself as very average, and although I have to exercise regularly and eat healthily, it seems to pay off quickly and well for me. If that’s the definition of a genetic lottery, then I’ll happily take it."
9."I can't get brain freeze. I've literally tried to get them on purpose. Nothing painful ever happens other than the roof of my mouth getting a little irritated from being too cold."
10."My siblings and I will never go bald. My dad's pushing 70 with a full head of dark black hair that only has a few white streaks in it. His mustache is also incredible lol."
11."I can heal piercings like nobody’s business. I fuck around with them, change the jewelry too early, sleep on them. They all heal incredibly quickly, with no angle issues or bumps."
12."I was one of those annoying kids who didn't need to study to get all A's in high school. And no, all those feel-good stories about how that left me unprepared for college don't apply to me either. I got an electrical engineering degree and a minor in Chinese, and I barely studied; maybe I'd cram the night before if I felt a bit uncomfortable. Still graduated with a 3.7."
And finally, here's one that I'm sure makes all of us normies jealous in these cold winter months:
13."I've never fallen sick once in my life. I didn't realize this was a big deal until people actively pointed it out. I had once bragged about it at my workplace that in all my life I've never fallen sick without realizing the consequences that I would have to bear while applying for leaves in the future."
