You'd think that people would've had enough of silly love songs ... and what's wrong with that? When pop stars are in love they want the world to know, so what better way to do it than in a song? Read on to discover which musicians were inspired to write a love song for their partner, and some exes!

Ed Sheeran and wife Cherry Seaborn are one of the fan-favorite celebrity couples. The ‘Shape Of You’ hitmaker wrote his famous track ‘Perfect’ inspired by her, following a wonderful party both attended at also music star James Blunt’s house. In an interview with Radio.one Ed said: "We got really hammered and took our shoes off and danced on his lawn and then jumped in the pool. And then the next day I was like, 'That's a cool story,' so I put it in a song." And so did he!

Singer Michael Bublé and wife Luisana Lopilato are simply adorable, whether together or as individuals. While speaking to The Daily Mail, he said that his song ‘Close Your Eyes’ was inspired by her, and that it is “an unashamedly heartfelt tribute to the strength of women, and how much men depend on them." He then added: "And people call women the weaker sex. How foolish is that?"

In a chat with Amazon Music, former NSYNC member Justin Timberlake revealed that his song ‘Montana’ is related to his dear wife Jessica Biel. And you won’t believe how ROMANTIC the reason is! He said: "'Montana', it's basically about being there with my wife. I proposed there, so it has a really special meaning. That's really where it started from.”

John Legend was named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive a couple of years ago, and we believe part of his charm is how romantic he is. John wrote his song ‘All For Me’ inspired by his beloved wife, Chrissy Teigen. The latter told The Huffington Post that “I did cry when I heard it. "I'm emotional, but I really don't cry at things like that ... but yeah, it's beautiful."

Following her and Cody Simpson’s split, Miley Cyrus released the track ‘Midnight Sky’, which CLEARLY sounds like a break-up anthem. While these are only fans’ speculations, Cody did in fact wrote a song for her at some point in 2019, when she was sick. He told People: "I wrote her a song this week that she's pretty much forcing me to put out.”

In 2016, rapper Mac Miller released his album ‘The Divine Feminine’ and fans quickly began to believe it was inspired by then partner Ariana Grande in its entirety. However, Ari herself revealed on Twitter that the only track that was written for her was ‘Cinderella’. Following Miller’s tragic passing in 2018, Ariana released a few tracks, including ‘Imagine’ and ‘Everytime’, which are believed to be inspired by him. However, she has never talked about it publicly.

During the time Shawn and Camila dated they gave us tons of romantic and ‘aw’ moments! One of them was featured in Mendes’s Netflix documentary ‘In Wonder’, where he states that ALL of his songs are about her. While describing one of the conversations he and Cabello had, Shawn said: "[I told her:] ‘They've always been about you.' She goes, 'what do you mean?' I'm like, 'they're all about you. Like, every song I ever wrote."

According to Billboard, rapper Kanye West’s track ‘Awesome’ was written during the time he was most in love with now ex Kim Kardashian. Part of Ye’s ode to the TV star goes like this: “Cause baby you’re awesome / so awesome/ you look too good to be at work, you feel too good to ever hurt.” Aw!

During her performance at DirecTV’s Super Saturday, prior to the 2018 Super Bowl, Jennifer Lopez wowed the crowd by revealing one of her new songs, ‘Us’, was about her relationship with now ex Alex Rodriguez. Before singing her new track, she said to A-Rod: "We’ve been together for one year today. I don’t want to get all mushy or anything, but baby this song is for you. I love you."

It’s no secret pop sensation Taylor Swift has shared part of her personal life through her music. In fact, she once told NPT that "people have essentially gotten to read my diary for the last 10 years." One of her most successful tracks is ‘Dear John’, inspired by ex-boyfriend John Mayer. While speaking to Rolling Stone, the latter made it clear he was not a big fan on the tune. He said: "It made me feel terrible. Because I didn't deserve it.” Ouch!
